Broken Window!
We drove the house today and saw that someone broke one of the windows that faces from the living room to the back yard. In the back yard, we found a questionable "meat stick" which may have been used to commit the crime. Stupid meat stick!

Waiting to Close Escrow
Robert and I are in the process of purchasing our first home. It has been full of ups and downs. Currently, we are waiting for the bank that owns our house (a foreclosure) to do some work that has to be done in order for our mortgage to fund. The work is supposed to be done by next Wednesday, the day we were originally going to close escrow, but our bank's appraiser has to come back to the house to verify the work was done, so this is likely to push our closing date back a few days. I'm a little disappointed, but hopefully there is a reason for this delay. So far, we have benefited from each delay in the process, so I am confident that this too is happening for a reason.
Fingers crossed--I want to close as soon as we can so we can tear up the carpet and old linoleum, demolish the disgusting cabinets in the kitchen, and have the house tented to kill the termites and roaches. Afterwards, we will paint the living room and kitchen, lay down new cork flooring throughout the house, and rebuild our kitchen from scratch. Yay for having new appliances! I am super excited about our kitchen because Robert and I both cook a lot, so I anticipate having a great time and spending a great deal of time in our awesome kitchen.
Photos to come!
